Kiama Relay for Life

By Elke Blake

Kiama Relay for Life is back on again on 22-23 October at the Kiama Leisure Centre.  It is a 24-hour event that raises funds for the Cancer Council. This year marks the seventh Kiama Relay for Life. Participants are welcome to stay at the event for as little as one hour, or can take the challenge and attempt to have a member of their team on the track for 24 hours. The Relay’s chairperson Marie Dalton said the Kiama committee had set a fundraising goal of $100,000 for the 2016 event.

Some previous Kiama Relays have been adversely affected by inclement weather. “We’ve had some up and down years, but we’re hoping for a good day on the day and things will go well,” Mrs Dalton said. You can register online at relayforlife.org.au until Thursday at 10am. Alternatively, you can come along from 9am, October 22 at the Relay to register.  Registration is $20 and also includes a complimentary shirt.

Come along for a great day!
