Former MP Matt Borwn to Run for Kiama Council

By Nicole Miljevic

Former Kiama MP Matt Brown will return to politics at the upcoming Kiama council election.

Mr Brown, president of the Kiama branch of the Labor Party, made the decision at their meeting last Thursday night.

Brown stated that he wanted to help ensure Kiama remained a standalone council, “I’ve been approached by the branch and a number of people in the community to lead the ticket,” he said.

If elected, his plan is to oppose the over-development in the town (Kiama). In addition to this, the implementation of more events, conferences and arts in town will be more prevalent to ensure businesses remain viable.
