The Grand finals of the Group 7 Footy Competition were held on the weekend at the Nowra Showground, with the Gerringong Lions First Grade team taking out the gold medal in the nail-biting grand final against the Warilla Gorillas. With 10 seconds to go, the Gerringong Lions were down 1 point, then managed to kick a field goal with 2 seconds on the clock, making the game go into golden point over time. After a few field goal miss-attempts from the Warilla Gorillas, the Gerringong Lions kicked a field goal to be crowned the winners and take home the shield!
The footy finals day was a great day all round, with the Gerringong Lions Reserve Grade team taking home the runners-up position to The Warilla Gorillas Reserve Grade team, in what was also an exciting match.
