Historic Peppercorn Cottage in Gerringong, South Coast, NSW is up for auction. This 153 year old home is said to be the oldest remaining home in Gerringong after a fire burned down much of the township in 1872.

Set on the ridge above boat harbour in the main street the home was originally built by J B Taylor for Mrs Margaret Campbell and her two daughters after Margaret's husband Ewan died in 1864.
In 1967 the home was sold to Alan & Marjorie Patterson who lovingly restored the dilapidated cottage after Alan, who was an architect, said we cannot let this Colonial building be bulldozed down. The house was named Peppercorn Cottage by Alan and Marjorie as the land it was built on had an old form of title called a Peppercorn Title.
